It always makes me smile when I learn of someone who bought a ukulele and became hooked - they are such awesome little instruments! I have seven Mahalos of different colours (and names!) and I allow my niece and nephew to play them (although my nephew seems to prefer my mandolin, and he's really good on it too). I would love to get my nephew a ukulele for his birthday because a mando is too expensive lol! The lad is a born musician, and since I'm a semi-pro singer with a talent for strings, ivory and woodwind I'm certainly intending to encourage him :)
