Daily Ukulele: "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" by Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt

This hit the web yesterday, I think, and it's already spread like wildfire. I'm not a built-in fan of either of these actor-singer-performers, but this cover is so incredibly charming, it was basically a foregone conclusion that it would end up here.

I'm going to start off Daily Ukulele as weekdays only ("Weekday Ukulele" wasn't quite as catchy), so in case this is my last post of 2011, have a wonderful New Year, drive safe, stay safe, have fun and happy 2012!

I am always surprised when I'm reminded that Zooey Deschanel actually has a strong, great voice!

Also I'm really happy (i.e. it makes me feel better about my own playing) that Zooey has to look at the strings when she switches chords. I play and my eyes are locked on the strings. >_>

Right? I'm trying to make myself be able to do chords without looking (practicing in the dark with a metronome actually kind of helps!) but when it comes to playing and singing, oh no, we are so not there yet. :)
