It's cute, but you'd have to restring it every time you folded it (ooogh, tuning, the bane of my existence....)

I mean, I wouldn't pay for the privilege, but as an engineering trick, I'll give the guy snaps. (My favorite is still the Altoids tin from a few days ago, though.)

(Tuning by ear is a nightmare for me -- thank goodness for smartphone tuning apps!)

Oh, yeah, it's totally a cute thing to do with a laser cutter. With no back to it and all those angles, I'll be surprised if the tone is real good, but...it's a uke, how much tone does it need, anyhow.

I have just bought my guitar-and-ukelele-playing daughter a Korg tuner-metronome as an early birthday present, with the hope that this will mean me spending less time bent over the piano and clapping my hands until they're sore. We shall see....
