Ukuleles: Automatic Happiness!

You may recognize Cliff Edwards as the voice of Jiminy Cricket in Disney's Pinocchio, but apparently we have him to thank the most for the ukulele craze of the 1920s! So says Wikipedia, so it must be true. Below is a neat little clip mixing a fun song with a series of improbable lit cigarette gags. More vintage covers! This time it's the 1927 hit "Ain't She Sweet," which I first heard thanks to the Beatles (still prefer the Anthology 1 cover to the Anthology 3/Let It Be-era version!). This guy is also worth watching not just because he makes a vintage plastic uke sound awesome, but because he tunes with a kazoo.
